31 Rubies Giveaway

When I was asked by Laura, an old friend and one of the contributing authors at 31 Rubies whether I'd be interested in contributing anything for a giveaway for the opening month of the website, I didn't hesitate before saying, "Absolutely!"

Why? 31 Rubies is a blog written by real women, who are striving to be better. Better Christians. Better mothers. Better wives. Better women. As someone who is walking the same path, I cannot wait to read their personal stories and and learn from their insights.

Take a few minutes to head over to 31 Rubies and check it out. While you're there, don't forget to enter to win these legwarmers, perfect for a little girl from 6 months to 2 years, and made by me!

Legwarmers!

A few weeks ago, I completed a custom order for legwarmers. One pair with stripes...

And one with a ruffle...

I love how these turned out! So cute and the perfect accessory for fall!

Matchy-Matchy

Okay. I admit it.

I like to dress my - obviously, not twin - sons alike.

As often as possible.

It's not really a choice, so much as a...compulsion.

(But they love it. Trust me.)

Here are E & W showing off their new winter hats, in today's 90 degree weather.

Notice I restrained myself from matching shirts.

The First

The very first diaper cover I made was for this little man.

He was less than a month old, and unfortunately, putting a C-17 on the bahunkus hadn't yet crossed my mind.

But now at 14 months old, I present C, modeling his very own C-17 cover in bakers chocolate and cadet blue.
(How appropriate is that?!?)

*Thanks for the pictures, K!

Giveaway!

I launched this blog a couple weeks ago, and within 24 hours - no kidding - I found out the yarn that I had been using for over a year to make diaper covers was being discontinued!!! I spent hours and more hours on the computer scouring yarn shops, and I finally found a replacement brand! Whew!

BUT...

That's not the point of this post. The point is: I had three whole skeins of girly colors in my discontinued yarn, and no "main" color to work with, so I took the lilac and sprout (two of my favorites),

and made a striped diaper cover!

The cover is made from 100% fine merino, and is a size small. It is made to be worn over cloth diapers, but makes a cute cover for disposables as well! Wool is a fantastic fiber that keeps baby warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and this merino is SOFT!

When I finished I thought, Wow! I'm coming up on my one-year anniversary writing Confessions of Super Mommy! I should make this cover a Giveaway!

So I did!

Go...Carolina???

One of my friends, a huge University of SC fan, is expecting her fourth baby. I knitted this hat as a gift for her son. The red looks bright in this photo, but it's actually closer to the USC crimson.

E, I love you, but Carolina will always mean the Tar Heels to me!!

Girls Love C-17s Too!

I have knitted a lot of blue yarn in the past couple years. It seems like everyone I know has had boys. Me. My friends. My family. But FINALLY I got the chance to make a brown diaper cover with a hot pink C-17!!

I think it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so, myself.

Can't wait to meet you, Baby Girl K!
